Locally known as Xuhui Binjiang, Xuhui the Bund provides an easy to connection to both Xujiahui and Pudong. With many new projects currently under development, including several new malls, it’s an area to keep an eye on. Future housing options are likely to include projects that overlook the river.

One of the biggest and busiest commercial hubs in Shanghai, Xujiahui has become a prime real estate area. With four square kilometers-worth of shopping malls (including an IKEA), restaurants and drinking places, Xujiahui is a testament to Shanghai’s purchasing power. It serves as one of the hubs for the Western Suburbs in Shanghai, as most will pass through here to reach the CBD.

FFC Xuhui starts at Xujiahui and ranges all the way from the once popular Hengshan and Yong Kang Roads to South Shanxi Road. Many roads in between, such as Wukang Road or Anfu Road, are worthy of exploration for their little known cafes and quaint bistros.

Caohejing is located just south of Xujiahui, with the Shanghai Stadium and IKEA just next to it. Caohejing Technology Park, which is a few streets down, also makes up the area and is Puxi’s smaller version of the Pudong’s Zhangjia Hi-tech Park.

Located far south of Xujiahui, bordering with Minhang and Pudong, Huajing is currently little known and rarely visited by expatriates as it has little to none supporting facilities or amenities of interest to expatriates.
