Shanghai Territory is tucked away on a street that is so calm and peaceful that it’s hard to believe that it’s so centrally located. Equally remarkable is the large percentage of green space that takes up the compound. Lush greenery, a Zen maze-like garden, peaceful outdoor seating areas, and gazebos come together to create serene oasis. So dedicated was the design team to the ideas of peace and serenity that there’s even a special ‘mindfulness’ area. High-end amenities are also available, including a clubhouse, swimming pool, gym, and yoga room.

Neighborhood

The immediate area surrounding the compound is lovely. The Chinese ‘parasol tree’, which originated from France, lines many of the nearby streets. There’s an array of local shops that are perfect for any day-to-day needs, including a small grocers that caters to both local and foreign clientele, patisserie, Starbucks, pet shop, daycare center, hair salon, spa center, restaurants, etc.

The (Line 1/12/13) Hangzhong Road metro station is just 10 minutes’ walk away. Also within walking distance are the Wusong/Suzhou River, Shanghai Juvenille Children’s Library, and Shanghai Natural History Museum. Several major shopping centers within a 20 minute range, including the Wujiang Pedestrian Street, HKRI Taikoo Hui Plaza, and the Shanghai Centre. High-end international supermarkets, English-speaking healthcare specialists, as well as wide range of shopping and dining options are all available in the area.

Many of the city’s other key sites can be easily reached, by metro or by car. This includes Jing’an Temple, People’s Square, The Bund, Lujiazui, and others. Middle Huaihai Road, a 5.5 kilometer long commercial street, is just 15-20 minutes by car (~30 by metro). And, conveniently, the North-South Elevated expressway is just a few minutes’ drive away, making for an easy connection to the city’s main expressways and bridges.
